My first travel blog on Andaman Islands.I Just feel to share my experience & thoughts about this lovely place. My experience may help others to plan their trip better. I went there with my family(Dad Mom and my elder sister).
The holiday to Andaman &Nicobar islands is once in a lifetime experience & full of amazing nature beauty & Stunning marine life.our journey begins on November 2014 with a lot of enthusiasm.
DAY 0:we started from Agartala to kolkata by spicejet around 10am .After 45min of journey to kolkata we stayed for about 3-4hrs & then boarded on Indian Airline Flight for portblair around 5pm. Flight duration was 2hrs. In the mean time we had our lunch & then witnessed some beautiful scattered islands .Simply amazing!
After landing to portblair we moved to our hotel.A royal Luxury cottage was booked for us.open sea view from your balcony makes you feel fresh.we were so excited for next day .
DAY 1:After having breakfast we planned to Visit Corbyn’s Cove Beach. There is nothing Special as such on this beach but the Calm Water & lovely view made us to spend about an hour on beach.Road to this beach is amazing.one can see Ross Islands on the way. After visiting beach we decided to visit Cellular Jail.Wow!!!! What a place! Best place to See and know past chapter of Indian History. You need at-least 2-3hrs to see the entire jail.Light and Sound show in evening was stunning. After watching the show i got to know why people call this Jail as “Kaala-Pani”.
DAY 2: We woke up early & were surprised by climatic condition. Its was just spellbound. Sunrising time in Andaman is about 5am & sets about 5pm. We checked out early in morning from resort to pheonix Bay Jetty(port). It was My first Ship journey. In fact our first ship journey.my mom and my sister was much more excited than me .we went on deck.View of open sea was amazing.we had a good breakfast there. After royal 2 hrs of journey we reached to Havelock(Island of Heaven).our driver was waiting for us in jetty.Beach is not at all good for swimming but you can relax on wooden benches .we had our photo-shoot session there.we took rest till 2.30pm & then started for very famous Radhanagar Beach. It is one of the largest beach in India.Very clean & beautiful. It was very difficult to stop myself from entering in blue water. After spending a long time ,we returned to jetty.
DAY3: we were waiting for this day since long time because we were planning for scuba driving.we went to a sea nearby abd after wearing Wet suit,we left the driving area by boat for our training section.Instructor explained us about the drive. After few min we were mentally ready to go deep.Scuba diving is must in Andaman as it gives us the chance to unlock the mysteries & wonders. It was a totally different world.I got the real meaning of movie Zindigi Na Milegi Dobara. After sunset we returned to our resort & the day was full of thrill & we tried few things for the first time in life so it was a perfect day for us.
DAY4:The very nextday we went to Ross Islands. It’s about 10min boat ride from jetty to Island. The Island is an Old capital of portblair during British regime. It is very well maintained by local peoples. It is heaven for photographer and photography too.To see the complete islands you need at least 2-3hr. There is a small beach which is completely destroyed by 2004 tsunami & after spending some time we return on same jetty. That day we roamed in portblair by hired car.we found portblair very clean & all people follow rules there.we returned to resort and had our amazing dinner.
DAY5: our day trips begins early in morning & ends aftersunset.we went to Baratang (a very famous place )to visit the famous limestone caves & jawar tribes.photography was strickly prohibited there.
DAY6: we went to Chatham Saw mill and some other local factory & then went for shopping in some nearby market.
DAY7: we checked out from hotel around 7 30am to catch flight. As usual I got a window seat & we said Goodbye to Andaman.
Must visit place which we failed to visit due to shortage of time.
